A design pattern group is the underlying structure of lines, shapes, colors, textures, and sizes that make a painting have general appeal to a viewer and the artist.
There are several pattern groups your painting can be designed around:
1). A smaller interesting black shape on a large mid value
2). A smaller interesting white shape on a large mid value
3). A small black shape inside a larger white shape residing on a large mid value
4). A small white shape inside a larger black shape residing on a large mid value
